that peaceful peace
that was lost in me
as i threw my seed
beside the thorny weed
and diverted all my dreams
to the stormy sea
where sinful sin
made me so mean
so incomplete
and preventing me
from finding the key
to my peaceful peace
then fearful fear
stabbed me with its spear
in my very ears
killing the source to hear
and drowning me here
in a pool of tears
and painful pain
was all i ever gained
as my name
swam in the lake of shame
and flooding my brain
with scorn rain
through an intriguing intervention
i was brought to introspection
when i took that different direction
die in his crucifixion
lived in his resurrection
to claim my portion
then came that sensational sign
as i gave out that sorrowful sigh
and he said the time was mine
offering eternal life
taking not a dime
my redeemed redeemer
who through powerful prayer
has done me a favour
a lovable father
is Jesus Christ my saviour

no more sheltered
under that old tree
where lovers once sat
loving with peace
forgetting the past
under that old tree
where strangers once met
saying to each
they both need a bed
under that old tree
where rivals once stood
refusing to be
the other one's stooge
under that old tree
where servants run to
planning to free
the other mates too
under that old tree
where thieves were once caught
instead of plead
they stood up and fought
under that old tree
where old men once dined
remembering their dreams
waiting for Gods time
under that old tree
where dry leaves could tell
before we did see
that old tree just fell
